So I found out the other day that turning on the "Game mode" on your HD TV or monitor is actually vitally important for games where reaction time is crucial. Turns out modern display devices perform a bunch of postprocessing in order to improve picture quality, resulting in a few extra tenths of a second delay. While that's not likely to give you a massive edge in things like CoD, I found it made a huge difference to certain tasks in FFX. Try it out, see if you notice a difference. |

Some HDTV's lack a game-mode or is extremely bad in game-mode anyway. If you're going to use a TV for gaming, make sure to check it against one of the databases to make sure that it's not bad. Here are two: http://www.hdtvtest.co.uk/news/input-lag http://www.displaylag.com/display-database/ |

As far as I remember the Sony Bravia TV from last year had really good gaming modes. |
