For a long time now I have been thinking it would be awesome to track 'beaten' games. This does not mean, collect all achievements. This means collect the specific achievement that shows you have beaten the game (reached the credits). retroachievements have implemented this, though this is all done manually on their end. I have done extensive research and can confirm this has not been done on any website so far (for everything except Retro Games).

What are your thoughts on a system like this? Within each game there could be an icon that shows you have beaten the game once the specific achievement has been earned. I assume you would need to mark that specific achievement as a beaten flag. There can then be a new category for a section on our profiles that shows all the games we have beaten (and a leaderboard) of highest amount of beaten games.

I can personally spend about 20 hours a week going through games already listed here and putting a comment on each game of the related 'beaten' achievement.

As an example:

Games Beaten Leaderboard:
https://retroachievements.org/ranking/beaten-games

Beaten progression:
https://retroachievements.org/game/11260
(Note the ribbon flag on the 'beaten' achievement)

There may be far better ways of doing this than what I have suggested but I am more than happy to dedicate my free time to assisting with this, whether than means I am just commenting the specific achievement or actively marking the achievement with a flag.

Any suggestions or if you think this is a bad idea, just let me know :)

I personally think it makes the most sense for a platform such as RetroAchievements (despite not knowing the site/games very well) as it's games seem to fit into such a system.

I don't think every platform here will fit tough. You can have highscore games, endless DLC games, sandbox, clickers etc. that never have a set ending. Game collections, visual novels etc. can have multiple (achievement) endings. You could exclude all of these but it kind of defeats the purpose as all the other scores count all games.

It would also be better to count the scores of the specific "win achievement" for leaderboard purposes (similar to Firsts and Completist) as you could easily inflate the amount with platforms such as Newgrounds, Kongregate and (especially) Roblox. But you could probably have the amount somewhere too (at least in your own statistics).

As this is manually done, it does require some support from the playerbase to make sense – but I do like (and share) your enthusiasm for helping the site.

If anyone else is interested, I suggest upvoting SlyJosh's comment. If it is popular, we could consider it (probably with a special tag for the "win achievement").

I am not yet at reputation level 5, so, I can't upvote it but definitely interested in such an option. Even if we have to mark our own games completed. I have been gaming since I have been 6 years old (48 now) and unfortunately poor eyesight means I don't always have the reactions to go for difficulty related trophies / achievements but I do try to finish the campaign. So, a "beaten" stat would help me. Thanks.

Wow, I have been looking for so long for a website that does this (other than Retroachievements).

Thank you so much, I have just signed up and reviewed. All does exactly what I was asking for.

Now we just need to implement that here as this is such an incredible website to track games/achievements.

(P.s - Remember I have 20ish hours of volunteer time a week that I can manually flag them for you)
